How much do you wish to leave?
Leaving money to children or a favorite charity is the final goal in life for many people. As noble and well-intentioned as these plans are, they require advance planning on a few fronts:
- Deciding who will receive your assets and how much they will receive.
- Completing an estate plan that spells out your wishes (includes a will, power of attorney, living will and possibly a trust).
- Saving enough money to have an adequate amount remaining at the end of your life to pass along.
